Like I worked out the negative thoughts for now.

I should be good for a few months.

That is the saddest thought you’ve had this week. You realize that you haven’t slept well in the last four days not because it’s late, or your schedule is fucked up, or you slept earlier in the day. It’s because when you close your eyes and are stuck with no one but yourself, you realize that you don’t have a single comforting thought to carry you through the night. You could lay there for hours and try to remember one or make one up, but nothing and no one is coming. Its just you and a jar of poisonous thoughts. Ones of doubt, failure, anxiety, fear, the list is literally infinite. We are born alone, and die alone. And in these odd weeks where your mind is like this, it is a sobering kick to the emotions. Its enough to bring someone to tears. For this small myriad of time, there will be no sweet dreams, fantasies, or mental escapes. You are alone. I am alone. All that you or I can do is hope that your or my body exhausts itself to the point of sleeping. But until then, it will be a cold night of waiting for nothing to come.
